Having another fairly slow day this time not because I feel the need to take a break but because my sidekick Jerry is showing that he needs to take one!
Jerry is starting to show his age though he doesn’t realize it himself. He’s like me go go go go go oh somethings wrong I can’t go anymore! Seems maybe this last week I overdid it for his sake meaning if he wasn’t trying to keep up with me stepping all week long his shoulder probably wouldn’t be bothering him now. We have an appointment set for the end of next week and he is under doctors orders to take it slow until then and hopefully he starts walking a little bit more normally otherwise they will be doing some x-rays.
Starting off today with a very slow meander across the road and back was all he was willing to limp.
Then we went for a nice drive, just because he physically can’t get around that doesn’t mean he wants to be left behind. Jerry is my furbaby, I feel for him as much as any parent would for their child. Knowing that I very well may be the reason that he is in pain now bothers me deeply.
We stopped at gorge park while we were in town, have to keep reminding him to take it slow. I think he has the point now but I did also give him an anxiety pill to slow him down for the evening. We usually only use those pills for when we’re trying to introduce him to a new situation but it seems to be fairly effective for this cause as well.
Barely making it to the school and Jerry is turned around and is leading me back home again. The only thing I’m really allowed to do for him according to the vet is giving massage to the area that I believe to be sore, which is his shoulder on the left side front.
So he’s been a very spoiled boy today getting treats, half my fries, and a little massage after every walk. Which the walks tend to be about 5-10 minutes.
So what I did today while he was recuperating is try to get caught up on things, I finally submitted my taxes and found out I have more work to do on that one. I ran around to a couple financial places downtown. Took Jerry to a nice park to go do my push-ups for the day. Last I dug out all of my bits and pieces of computer stuff to find one cable to finally get my IPFS Node completely together!
Pretty certain I left my phone on the counter while I was at home and in the car when down town but meh w/e I hate missing a days post despite today’s minimal count 😅
I looked at the fitbits, I need one of the dongle ones I can keep in pocket as the watches would not be allowed at work.
Looks like to hit my 10k by 10am I will have to leave Jerry at home for his own good. Better believe I’ll still be bringing him home a treat!
New reason for the push to achieve, gotta earn my reward to share with him 😅
