Matthew 14: 22 -33
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
Christianity in its truest sense and meaning is living after Christ. That is, modelling our lives to follow the footsteps pf Christ while we live in this world. From origin, the citizens of Antioch first called the disciples of Christ – “Christians” because their lives were inseparable from Christ’s. This however is not meant to be a story, rather, a reality even in today’s profession of Christianity.
Our reading passage today points to Peter, a key disciple of Christ who found himself on a learning platform and he maximized it. He saw Christ walking on the water and he bid to do same. At the Master’s approval, he ensued and walked on water just as His Master – Jesus Christ was. As you read in the Bible story, Peter’s walk was short-lived for a few reasons. However, my today’s blog will place emphasis on Peter's focus on the Lord.
While Peter fastened his eyes on the Lord, he was walking on top of the water waves, but lo! that movement his eyes missed to focus on Jesus but rather concentrate on the raging waves, he began to sink.
But Why would he lose focus on his Lord? = Fear
Peter suddenly became afraid of his environmental changes. Today, the turbulence in our families, communities, nations, rouses a great noise as if to devour us. Their plan is simply to tremble our hearts and distract us from our Master.
Like Peter, we find ourselves in a situation (probably when the goings are well) that we look to God and trust Him for everything, then, at the slightest wave of trouble or tribulation, we find ourselves miserably struggling to trust God anymore.
Tough situations and troubling times never prove the extinct of God. God remains in every situation and that be true, then our faith on Him should not be waived or shaken by the uncertainty of days.
Remember, God has admonished us to Look unto to Jesus, for He is the author and perfecter of our faith.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help me to look to you despite the roaring storms of life - Amen.

Psalm 36: 7 – 10 (LB)
How precious is your constant love, O God! All humanity takes refuge in the shadow of your wings.
You feed them with blessings from your own table and let them drink from your rivers of delight.
For you are the Fountain of life; our light is from your Light.
Pour out your unfailing love on those who know you! Never stop giving your salvation to those who long to do your will.
I hope to see you all in @Steemchurch Prosperity Village!
