One favorite appetizer of Filipinos is the “itlog ng pula” or red egg which is actually salted duck egg. The duck egg is submerged in salted water for some time. I really don’t know how long. Some are wrapped up, depending on who makes them. I have no idea why they color it red. Leaves your fingers red when slicing.
I mix mine with tomatoes and a little onion.

This is how it looks after mixing. Goes well with fried fish, chicken, pork and almost anything.

These are the ingredients I used. I chopped the onions finely the cubed the tomatoes and salted egg. Had it with fried fish. Does give you an appetite lol.
