The day of the dogs!!
I kid you not.
It all started with one barking and waking me up from a deep sleep. Barking dogs in the morning usually means that someone needs to go out quickly.
I jump out of bed only to find out that in this case, Miss BB wanted to come in. My roommate had let her out and her dainty little feet didn’t like the grass wet from the morning dew.
After doing the morning things like feeding chickens, drinking coffee, checking on Steem and such, I decided to take Gia for a walk.
I hadn’t fed her yet and wanted to reward her with treats if she was doing well. She obviously isn’t used to that since she looked at me funny when I was trying to give her some.
No matter. We didn’t get very far when a little white dog came running down the street. No leash. No owner.
It apparently was love at first sight when he saw Gia. She was also happy to see him and any idea of training went out the door.
We walked to a neighbors house I thought he might belong to. No luck. We headed home and got everybody safely into the yard.

Gia and him played run around like crazy. BB took one look, turned around and went into her room. Yes, she has her own room of sorts.
For some reason, she loves to hide in closets. We finally gave in and her bed is in the coat closet. She loves it.
I, in the meantime, snapped some pictures of the dog, posted them to Next Door and Facebook.
Then, I called my neighbor who I hadn’t seen for a while. Turns out that her mom has cancer and Parkinsons and she has been a full-time caregiver.
Next, with phone and a carton of eggs in hand, I went to a different neighbor who also knows a lot of people.
We all thought that maybe the dog belongs to the deaf family. I checked but nobody was out and knocking doesn’t make sense.
Throughout the day, I kept working on my garden projects and whenever I saw movement on the street, I showed the picture of the dog and asked for information.
When I was shoveling mulch to bring to the back, I saw this baby dove sitting on the pile. Later, I also found the nest that had fallen out of the tree. What was up with all this animal mana?

The deaf people were on their porch at one point when I was out front. I ran over but knew right away that they weren’t missing their dog. It was barking at me 😀
Toward evening, I remembered that a neighbor a couple of blocks down also has a white, fluffy dog. That dog was home as well.
But they had seen the escapee before and pointed out a house he might come from. I went. I knocked. No answer.
By this time, my roommate was home from work with Thai food. Yay!!
After dinner, she took Miss BB and walked to the house we thought the dog belonged to. I was almost ready to let him find his own way home. My neighbor told me that he sees him all the time. And throughout the day, he had become more and more aggressive towards me.
So, if we can get him safely across the street, I figured he would run home.
Luckily, my roommate saw an Ice cream truck in front of the suspected dog owner’s house and rushed to get there before everyone had gone back inside.
It was their dog and he was very happy to be back with his people. I hope they keep him secure. There are lots of cars driving fast along this road at certain times.
Yup. Lots of walking for the dog- not with the dog 🤪
And of course the #seven77 push-ups.
