The art of Jeffrey Scott Campbell...it’s truly a beautiful thing. He has beefed his talents up throughout the years and has come a long way since his Gen 13 days. Speaking of, go check out @modernzorker’s recent posts reviewing those very books. Very fun!
Anyway, Campbell has built an empire off of his amazing works and Statue manufacturer and industry giant Sideshow Collectibles has taken notice. They now have a line called the Fairytale Fantasies Collection and the pieces are all based on the fine artworks of this modern master.
The first piece in the line was The Little Mermaid. There are actually several versions of this specific piece. Mainly paint variations but the one cool thing about the purple tailed version was that it was a limited edition run only available through Sideshow’s Retail Partners (we are one of them). That version was never available through Sideshow...just in stores at local shops. I love this idea and wish Sideshow would do it a bit more often as driving traffic to local shops is an important piece in keeping this industry healthy.

The mermaid pieces are very pretty. We had the store exclusive version with the purple tail in pur shop...2 of them actually and they are both gone now. Lots of detail and the face just screams “Campbell”!!!

The next piece in the line is the Tinkerbell piece which just arrived in my shop about an hour ago!!! It ships in a nice normal box that features Campbell’s art. Upon opening, I noticed it comes in 3 pieces...the head, the body, and the base. Simple enough!!!
Putting it together took about 15 seconds and it seems to hold together well. Lately I’ve had some loose pegs and wobbly pieces from them so it’s a relief that this seems tight and secure. I absolutely love the base on this piece as it’s a golden compass. Her wings are beautiful and the piece while petit, gives off a very elegant look.
This piece is limited to 3500 in the world and we received #181 on the one I opened. We have another set aside for a gentleman who pre ordered it several months back. Retail price is around the $300 range on this but I have a feeling that down the road, these will all increase. As more pieces are introduced into the line, the machine starts moving and folks getting into the new pieces suddenly want the older ones. Happens all the time in this silly world...
Let’s take a peek at this lovely fairy...

But my favorite piece in the line so far...os one that’s not out yet. This badass Alice piece has such an awesome base to it. So colorful and fun. I’ll definitely be adding one of these to my collection when it releases later in the year. Feast yer eyes on this beauty!!!

Okay...okay...so the production photo that I yanked from Sideshow’s site fantasizes it a bit with the background. But even with a drab colored wall behind it, it’s still a thing of beauty.

Thanks for peeking folks!
