This may be an extreme example of the future to come. I see this as Marxism achieved rather than a true depiction of reality. I was a Marxist for a brief time until I realized that it was just foolish and best on paper rather than in practice. There are components of it that apply but as a whole, it cannot fulfill.
There is definitely a large divide between people and what they think their ideologies are. The lumping of people into two categories is just an easy way to organize. We know that there are lots more people every day who no longer consider themselves part of that dichotomy. That doesn’t mean there isn’t difficult differences between the class of people who do things for themselves and those who just pay for it to be done. I have an IT career but do nearly all of the things DIY at home. I don’t fit neatly into those categories and my point is that there are more people who are falling into this. The economy is in the toilet so people are having to learn out of necessity now so the environment is changing.
The false dichotomy of a political system in America is coming to an end; more people are tuning out and their control is slipping. This is why they are being forced to pass increasingly draconian ‘laws’ every month.
