Have you heard about Coinbase Earn? Coinbase started a program that rewards you for learning about new cryptocurrencies. The idea is that you watch a few videos that educate you about a particular coin and answer a few questions to verify that you understand. Coinbase then sends you some of that coin to your wallet. (You need a Coinbase account, of course)

Stellar is the largest participant so far in Coinbase's education program. They have committed 1 BILLION XLM (Lumen) to the program, which will all go to the users. The program is starting for US customers first and will expand to more areas.

I just finished the education program for Stellar. There are 5 videos, each one only a few minutes long. After each video you answer one multiple choice question about what you have learned. Very simple. You can earn $2 worth of Lumen (deposited directly in your wallet by Coinbase) for each of the 5 videos that you watch.

They were actually very interesting and educational. I learned just what the company intended me to learn from this exercise - what the purpose of the coin was, how it is used, who uses it, and how it works. I'm very impressed with Stellar after watching the videos! I think they have made a good business decision to use this method to incentivize people to learn about their project. Here's a snapshot of my wallet after watching each of the 5 videos:

Then to encourage people (like me!) to share this opportunity you receive an invite code when you have completed the videos. You can then also earn more XLM if 4 friends that you have invited go through a video as well. So if 1 person uses your invite code and goes through all 5 videos, you can earn $10 (in XLM) for that person. And you can receive rewards for up to 4 people.

So you earn your first $10 in Lumen by watching the videos yourself. Then you share your invitaion code with friends, and if 4 of them use the invitation to learn about Stellar themselves, you've earned another $10 x 4. If you are considering doing this for yourself, I'm providing you my invitation code to get you started! If you decide to use it, thank you very much!

If you already have a Coinbase account you simply check the box and sign in to your account. If you don't have an account, but would like to have one, I have a referral code for that as well. If you use the code and buy or sell at least $100 of crypto through Coinbase, we will BOTH received $10 in Bitcoin. I've had a Coinbase account for about 3 years and I can't wait for them to add STEEM to their list of supported coins. You can buy crypto through your credit card or link to your bank account, and you can withdraw your USD to your bank through PayPal. It makes things very easy.

Here's my Coinbase referal code if you want to use it to create an account:

I hope you have fun Learning and Earning - think how much Steem you can buy with $50! And if you are a person who regularly sends money to foreign countries - XLM might just be a very useful and economical tool for you!

Hey this is some cool stuff! I never created a coin base account but love me some lumens. I kinda like how the superficial use for the coin is like ripple except it is a real decentralized crypto rather than one held by the bankers already.

I may have to check that out, start learning and earning.
Thanks for sharing!

Nice piece and thanks to put our banner in your very interesting posts ;)

I enjoyed reading your clear and informative blog. I am away on a lengthy travelling holiday and wifi is patchy so I will look at this in more detail when I get home mid April. How does one sustain earning money once the intro incentives are finished with. (Not a writing program like steemit?)
Any advice for me to become a minnow?

I'm not clear on your question on sustain earning money after intro incentives - are you talking about on Steem, or are you asking about Stellar Lumens?
I see that you are writing fiction on your blog - good content! My best advice is to join writing contest like @freewritehouse and get involved with the writing communities.

This was my favourite for 8 months and then I sold all and bought into holo...

We received an airdrop of 8000 lumens when I had a lot of Bitcoin on Kraken - it was $4000 worth - for free! Ahhh the good old days!

Sounds like a really nice idea from Stellar to get people to learn about their coin. And $50 is not a bad little incentive!

Stellar is awesome and their distribution methods are really good. Nevermind their partnerships. I think this block chain is really good.

Tat is very cool stuff and a chance to learn and earn sounds great to me :)

Howdy there blueeyes8960! I went through those videos and earned some stellar a few days ago too, I think stellar may be one to make it since it is IBM's blockchain of choice and they have so many technicians working on it and IBM's computers run the Central banking system so obviously they'll be using it worldwide. I'm surprised it's so low in price.

Thanks for the heads up! I already have XLM in my portfolio, but I won't turn down free ones either!
