
While endless debates about who’s to blame for the current shortage—and a more than a few conspiracy theories—abound, a former DENR secretary weighs in on what we can do about it. “Water stress is really increasing,” she points out, and time is of the essence.
What the community can contribute to this crisis is far less(though it can do a lot) than what really the government can do to solve this yearly water shortage and that is to stop the privatization of the water supply and start subsidizing for additional cost in covering those shortages. That is why the government of the Philippines plans to establish another water resource.
