Joelle spat out the piece of meat she had in her mouth, managed to take a tampon out of her purse and painfully embedded it in her wound. Maybe that would give enough time for the paramedics to save her life.
For a moment I thought she was actually a vampire. But if she's not, I hope she can live. She fought off the attackers and they died in a death dance.

Let me tell you a very little story: There was a time when I read a book called "Your Erroneous Zones" by Wayne Dyer. In it, there was an exercise of imagining that one was kidnapped and left in a place far from home (something like a jungle, far from civilization) and where nobody spoke your language. I would simply die. However, I told to my cousin about the activity that the author proposed, and she told me that the mere act of taking revenge on those who abducted her was sufficient reason to survive and have the pleasure of killing them once she got home. Brave the girl, isn't she?
