Thai Coconut | Home BBQ | Jamaica's Legendary Ladies

Greetings Hivers,
It's a hot summer day in Kobe Japan. How have you been passing the summer days? Today I'm sharing some of what we've been up to in the past week. I'll share about some coconuts we saw, our BBQ dinner and three legendary Jamaican ladies.

Found these coconuts by chance in a huge supermarket recently. Of course they were not grown in Japan. Upon checking I confirmed that they were imported from Thailand. I couldn't resist buying one for sampling. Depending on how it tastes I may be back for more.

This is one of the ways we've been passing the time at home. We bought a few meats, shrimp 🦐 and vegetables along with some sweet onions we got on our trip to Awaji Island.

Our family enjoyed preparing, cooking and eating this delicious food. It was a nice mix of meat and vegetables.

Jamaica's Legendary Ladies: gold silver bronze
The Jamaican 100m trio were at it again as Shellyann Frazer Pryce clocked 10.60 to capture the good medal 🥇 at the Lausanne stage of the Wanda Diamond League in Switzerland. Elaine Thompson was a close second at 10.64 while Shericka Jackson rounded out the top three with 10.92.

It seems the Jamaicans ladies have cemented their place as top contenders for the 100m race as this is the third major track meet where they captured the top three spots.

Do you think that the 10.49seconds 100m women's record will be broken anytime soon? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Stay connected, stay safe.

The Covington all gone with I strictions! Is a straw dat at the top?

Indoor bbq a gwaan man, and you don’t have to worry about the heat or starting a fire.

10.49 seconds being beaten anytime soon, I saw this message but never even know how t answer. But if there is another event which I’m not sure there is, I think Elaine can beat Florence Griffith-Joyner's world record of 10.49 seconds, set in 1988.

I’m surprised she hasn’t beat it yet.

( did some research )

@dmilliz You know I didn't even notice the straw on the coconut bro. I had to check the picture again as well as the sample I bought.lol

I think there are 14 or 15 Wanda diamond League athletic events each year so there is still time. The next one should be in Paris then Zurich.

YUH SERIOUS? 😄

Nah lie though, Japan know how to package a product.

So many more competitions? That is crazy. Nuff chances to win!

Yeah more diamond league races to come but all this running takes a toll on the body of the athletes so I don’t expect any faster times until they take a break (skip a few events) like Shelly did and return for the later track meets.

Looks so good! I saw your another post about how happy you were eating the food you grow up with I can totally relate! And who doesn’t miss coconut! I had some in Cuba fresh from the tree I still missing that!

@wonderwow Yeah Cuba is one of our closest neighbors. I wonder if there are any coconut farms in your area. lol 🤣

Not at all… the coconut in the grocery stores are about 5$ each and not fresh at all …

Pricey and not fresh what a combo.

The food looks divine 😍 and wow those ladies aren't kidding around with those numbers and prices. Congrats!

They are not kidding at all.

Hello @bearmol. Wow, the Thai BBQ dinner looks awesome and delicious. Do you cook the shrimp with the shell on?

Thanks for sharing your indoor cookout.

Thanks @justclickindiva.

The coconut 🥥 is Thai but the BBQ is something different.

Yes. The shrimp 🦐 was cooked with the shell on.
