One highlight of the event was high schooler Bouwahjgie Nkrumie's personal best and championship record of 9.99 seconds in the men's 100m event. The first sub 10 time in the event's history. You may recall that the current world record now stands at 9.58 seconds .
That's impressive, so who knows where this young one will go and eventually break other records.
Can you believe it? I was blown away by the time.
The future looks bright indeed.
Got to keep an eye out for this one. Just hope he doesn't get discouraged along the way, just like with Simone Biles who was breaking every record in gymnastics and dealt with mental health problems. Now doing better I think.
Not that it's a shame, because anyone can have those, but wouldn't wish it on anyone.
