I love the image and the idea of ghost towns altogether. There's something very beautiful about it, very...poetic :)

I wonder what the inhabitants thought of their lives at the end.

I think everyone has some sort of regret in them, I think it's impossible not to. To realize you at some point made a bad choice. But I think the big difference between people is that some did what they thought was best at the time, while others did not. And some can accept that, while others can not :)

Ah thank you HD...I actually wanted to say something else altogether but the post didn't go that way. Maybe it'll come out better next time.

I agree, there's always a degree of regret but understanding the possibility of future-regret in the now minimises the risk of it popping up too often in the future I think. Doing the best one can now is essentially living one's best life which, as you know, I advocate.

Thanks for commenting and yes, abandoned places have a certain appeal to me also. I find them sad sometimes, but appealing.
