Once again an awesome initiative, @hitmeasap.
The comment by @cicisaja made me laugh, because it is so typical for Cici, lol. @cicisaja, you rock, but you already know I think you're the best.
Congrats to the soon-to-be minnows. I must admit I only know @skramaters a little, and of course I know @curatorcat. That kitty is really doing good :0)
@hitmeasap, I don't know if you take delegations into consideration, but I might have a suggestion to fill that 5th spot.
Ever since I got to know @tryskele, she's been so supportive towards others. I think she used to be one of my Redfish Rockets a couple of months ago (@tryskele, please correct me if I'm wrong). Always there to help and support, even though she hasn't got a lot of SP of her own. Last week, I decided she really deserved to get over that 500sp mark and delegated 150sp - even though I've been focusing on newcomers these last couple of months. With 3 delegations, she has now a little over 500sp, but I think it would be great if she could grow her account to reach that mark without having to rely on delegations.
I really think you're doing a great thing here. And it makes me really happy to see so many people are trying to contribute and help people to reach minnowhood.
But that's also exactly the reason why I decided to minimize my support. Not because I don't want to grow that middle class, but because so many people are taking action already, while there are so many promising newcomers who have to get around with 15sp or less. It's the invisible category of people - most of them can make a post and like 6 comments, and then have to wait two days for their RC to recharge again. The ladies of the @heyhaveyamet initiative are taking up the awful task of going through a zillion of posts with the #introduceyourself tag, trying to find the gems in between all the poor quality posts. Now so many people are helping people who are close to minnowhood to grow their account, I can afford to delgate small amounts of SP to a lot of newcomers, just so they have a little breathing space and at least get a fair chance to get to know SteemIt and become part of the community. Because this RC system is killing the platform. Even with a small delegation, the number of people that leaves again within one month is huge.
If no action is taken, there will soon be no redfish left to push to minnowhood.
So after a talk with @paulag, I decided to just keep doing what I was already doing: trying to keep people with potential motivated enough to stay here, so the stream of new users who have something valuable to add to the blockchain won't dry up.
... all this just to explain why I do not join the ongoing initiatives. I don't want anyone to think that I don't care anymore, lol. Because I do. I just want to make sure that you don't run out of redfish to push to minnowhood :0)
