It makes sense to power up completely by default, and transfer to steem or sbd when you need it. After all it's what helps you actually use this platform, and helps you get more steem as it goes (aside from the interest, that I didn't know of). I wonder if the devs are going to relax the powering down / transfer timeframes because they are rather very long.
