RE: Is Natural Ordered or Chaotic: A Response to the Tribe Steem Up Question of the Week

in #steempress7 years ago

Just posted mine....

man is the disruptor of this law of natural order and apparent chaos

Are we disruptors? Or is what appears to us as 'disruption' the natural way we engage in the eco-system? Not promoting one opinion over the other, but I always wonder... if we are 'natural', then what we produce, how we act, maybe that's natural too?

How do we heal the system? There's an argument that the more we try to fiddle and fix a situation, the worse it becomes. I can see this in a medical/health context, and certainly there is evidence of that in an ecological/global context too.... to a point.

Sort:

Yes, we are disruptors, like any natural animal that has no predator to keep it in check. We are the variable that throws things into disarray and stops resilience within systems... we fuck things up to the point of no return. Still, there is an order in this.. and a chaos.

We are better off trying to heal or adjust a system with all the knowledge we have.. look, for example, at conservation of native habitat and wildlife corridors that see species return to a more sustainable level. Of course we need to adjust... can't see how these efforts could make things WORSE. Surely? Sure we have the utopia/dystopia paradox (aiming for paradise, we create more problems than we solve .. ah, the brave new world.. think cloning for eg) but in environmental terms I think we know what to do to halt if not undo the damage done, just.. um, capitalism.
