Yes, the hops flowers are called 'cones', can see why, huh? We used to collect wild hops in the UK. I think they are called wild as they haven't been intentionally sown, and I think the other 'wild hops' isn't actually a hops at all so there is some confusion there.

Yeah, it's totally another world! I love that about it too - it's an art form with a lot to learn. I know that you can use my variety (cascade) fresh and a local brewer made some out of our hops, then took a plant and grew his own. We can't be bothered making beer, or have no time, but my hubby does love a very, very hoppy brew - it's very bitter!
