- Accommodation in Maafushi
Accommodation survey time at booking.com the cheapest price I found was a neighborhood of RM 200 per night. It is in 4-5 budget hotels.
If it is a solo one, why not hostel. Before you book a book, read the review first and choose what's pleasing to your heart.
There is more budget to sit in accommodation that is close to Bikini Beach. The beach area is pretty and happening. Among the hotels in this area are Stingray, Triton, Kani, Arena, Kuredhi etc. We stay at Stingray, beautiful and highly recommended. Complimentary buffet breakfast is available.
- Airport transfer
Airport to Maafushi.
- Public Ferry (1 hour 45 minutes - 2 hours)
Landing later on Valena Airport. After a 2-minute (10-minute) taxi ride to the Maafushi Ferry jetty and then connect to the public ferry to Maafushi for USD 3. Upon arrival to Maafushi, take the jeep from the jetty to the accommodation. For a public ferry make sure to look timetable for travel plans. Friday is a public ferry.
- Speed Boat (30 - 45 minutes)
If you arrange a speedboat with accommodation then someone will be waiting for the airport. When it comes to Sorry I have a staff waiting for the jetty to take luggage and show me the way. That's the day we got to the night, so arrange ready with the Stingray. You pay USD 25 per person. In addition, you can book online speedboat at icomtours.com for USD 20.
Maafushi to Airport.
To get back just take the airport transfer up speedboat direct to the airport. For that Stingray charge USD 20 per person. If there is a lot of time to use the public ferry, much more saving isn't.

- Watersports
Kayak (USD 10) rent at Arena Hotel, because the Arena's front beach is beautiful. Between 10 am - 12 pm for calm waters and beautiful sea colors. Other places are also available for kayak rentals as low as USD 5 but the beach front is not very beautiful.
Other activities include jetski (USD 35), parasailing (USD 100), funtube (USD 15) and more. If there are many activities there is a discounted price.
- Snorkelling trip
Snorkelling trip's there are many types and go somewhere else. Before coming, make sure to plan the activity and book early when it comes. Among the places you can survey are Icomm and Salt Beach. Make sure to take the package from the right place. Do not be fooled by too cheap packages fear there is shrimp behind the coral.
All our snorkelling packages take on Stingray because we stay there for a bit of discounts. Extremely satisfied because the boat is very comfortable, punctual, quality snorkelling mask, helpful guide and the underwater picture that you enjoy.
Here's a snorkelling package review we took:
Half day includes 2-point snorkelling Banana Reef & Turtle Reef, Sand Bank & Dolphin Cruise (USD 30 Stingray, USD 25 Salt Beach).
Review: Recommended because there is Turtle Reef. Snorkelling in Maldives does not look like a colorful coral. The corals are much faded due to sea temperature changes.
Full day includes 2-point snorkelling Coral Reef & Banana Reef, Gulhi Island & Guraidho Island (USD 50 Stingray, USD 35 Salt Beach).
Review: Not recommended because Gulhi Island is beautiful but it's a short while there and Guraidhoo Island is a regular. If you want to try this one, take it with Salt Beach as you go sandbank and see the dolphins in this package.
Shark bay includes snorkelling with sharks, sandbank, Fulidhoo Island & swimming with dolphins (USD 50 Stingray, USD 50 Salt Beach).
Review: Highly recommended. Snorkelling close to the shark and Fulidhoo Island is pretty crazy !!! Swimming with dolphins is difficult because the dolphins are very fast. Snorkelling time with the shark follow je guide that holds gopro everywhere to get beautiful pictures.
P / s: Fulidhoo is a local island with 600 inhabitants. Very calm because it can be seen locals life and not crowded with tourists like Maafushi. Here's a survey of accommodation here and there's a budget. If you have plenty of time trying to stay here.
There is a public ferry and speedboat from the airport. Just price here 2x double price Maafushi. For example snorkelling trip from Maafushi USD 25 here USD 40, airport transfer Maafushi USD 20 here USD 40.
- Resort Day Trip
The resort that people always go is Adaaran Ralnalhi (USD 105). There are many more resorts you can choose to suit the budget. We were on the day to Centara Rash Fushi, very beautifully prepared with unlimited watersports (kayak and paddleboat) and a 10-star hotel buffet.
Review: If you really want to travel, skip the resort, unless you really want to have a water bungalow. With the price of rm400-500 per day trip is not worth it because the beach on the local island and sandbank is quite beautiful.
But undeniably the atmosphere and the beach near the resort is pretty much different. Follow each budget in the selection process.
