The mood color is gray. The way home

in #travel7 years ago

Spring came to the Veliky Ustyug! The snow begins to melt, puddles form on the roads and everything around is covered with a gray-dirty color. This period in the spring is the grayest in visual terms. But this grayness, as one of the main periods in the life of Russia, is always avoided by photographers. Only units of reportage and documentary photographers use this to convey the mood, time of year, and the state of affairs in terms of beautification of the city.

I decided to walk from work to home and capture everything that surrounds me.
The path to the house takes about twenty minutes and passes through different mikrorayons.

On Dezhnev Street, old houses look even more depressed in this weather.

Like plastic old house do not sheathe, still it will remain old.

There are beautiful houses on Kuznetskaya street.

And this is ugly. But once it all looked decent.

Wooden beauty is a thing of the past.

On the street Zaovrazhskaya such houses a lot.

"Snowdrop"

This is a special aesthetic that is inaccessible to everyone.

"Summer is daily"! 8-22

See the sign "40"? This is just a challenge! With such speed on such a road the wheels fall off.

Dogs.

GAZ trucks.

Spring snow

Former John the Baptist Monastery, now Stubble-Brush Factory.

Birch Square on Shilnikovsky street.

"Stubble Factory Uphill" - the rise in the neighborhood "Hill".

Urn waist-deep in the snow.

I left!

Snow porridge everywhere.

How to comment on such pictures? Maybe etude in gray-brown tones?

View of the city center and 1st Proletarskaya street from 2nd Proletarskaya street.

Around one solid Sht. (on russian the word of sht begins from letter "Г")

Street Vinogradov.

Street Kuznetsova.

House with arch.

They open up new opportunities.

Pie? Give two!

The house is near.

Interestingly, someone fell off? (It is written on the wall: let the hands of the one who litter fall off)

Old and "new" dormitory.

Nearby is a new playground.

Sakharov street. Panel houses on two apartments.

Children at any time have fun!

Driveway of RMZ.

March cat.

To the house there are several tens of meters.

The pavement is carefully sprinkled with sand.

In the courtyard.

And now the view from the window. I'm at home!

Lol. I liked the bit when you said the speed limit is 40. The roads are seriously bad and will they be repaired in the Spring or just left like that? We have bad potholes here that would damage your rims and blow your tire. They fill them in every now and then ,but just reappear. Looks a bit depressing in that area and hope the sunny weather makes it more pleasant.

This road will not be repaired. We have 70% of such roads in our city, district, and indeed throughout Russia.

*etuding in gray-brown tones * :D jokes aside, I enjoyed this thorough post so much! You've captured the most interesting parts on your way home, wish my way home looked somewhat like this :)

Thanks! glad you liked it

How ironic it is that I haven't witnessed snowfall in my life but it is on my bucket list, the scenary is just beautiful and heavenly. Wish to witness nature at its finest soon enough and enjoy the winter season while it lasts my friend.

We have such long winter season that I is already tired from it. It is good that it gives way by spring and summer.

You're right, it doesn't feel very good when the snow melts and there's mess everywhere. On the top of it, the puddles make the situation worst 😀 But, still, I enjoyed looking at the state of affairs at your place. Things seem to be in transition.

wooaw..... great experience you have in there. I really felt for your pictures and the various environment in there. I really enjoyed every second i spent reading your blog

Thanks for sharing. It felt like one was there, walking those streets.
Pity the pavement is in such state of abandonment.
I especially liked the dogs in the pictures. I think they were the stars.
I like snow, but after the snow truck plows do their work the spectacle is quite disgusting, as your photographs so accurately captured it.
Nothing uglier that muddy snow, or iced mud, depending on how you look at it.
