I believe that this DApp that I'm reviewing is a fantastic one. It's really nice spreading word about how useful this DApp can be for you.
This is an advertising DApp, and as we may already know advertising is simply creating awareness of a product, or service or idea to the market. Basically, the sponsors of advertising are businesses that want to create more awareness of their own products or services.
Advertising is very different from selling in person, because in advertising, your message isn't directed to a particular person. You can advertise through a number of mass media. For example, you may choose to advertise through newspapers, television, blogs, social media, websites and so on.
Advertisement or ad or advert, whichever way you may want to call it, is when the message is presented through a particular medium to the masses. There are many challenges that advertisers face, and one challenge that seems to top the list, is the fact that the ads they pay for may not even get to real people.
There are advertising frauds - that give the advertisers wrong report of the number of clicks that their ads achieved. This has been a major issue that advertisers face, but with the DApp that I'm reviewing, you'd see that advertising could be as smooth, and as nice and as effective as you would want it to be. And for those that have websites, it's time monetize it, and make good revenue from it. I hereby introduce to you AdEx. Currently on the State of the Dapps
What is AdEx?
AdEx is a decentralized advertising platform for online advertising. It was originated in the year 2017. This DApp is built on the Ethereum blockchain. AdEx is basically composed of three parties, who are all involved in the advertising process. AdEx aims to make life a lot nicer for all the participating parties. I'm going tell you about all the parties involved. First, let's start with -
- Publishers - If you are a publisher, there's good news for you. You can sign up with AdEx to make money from your websites. Yes, you read that right. Quite similar to Google Ads - in which case you sign up as well, in order to monetize your website.
When you sign up as a publisher with AdEx, you would be able to generate money depending on how many clicks the Ads on your website achieve and would verify the ad delivery. By doing this, advertisers would only be paying for real impressions. As a publisher, you would have the option of accepting or declining ads that would be appearing on your website. Hence, you would have full control over what kind of ads are displayed on your websites.
To me, this is the best reason why I think that - as a publisher, you should sign up with AdEx - you would be dealing directly with advertisers. Hence, there would be no middleman.

- Advertisers - As we all probably know, advertisers spend money in order to create awareness of their products or services. With AdEx, it's no different, as you would have to buy ad space as an advertiser. You would need AdXtokens. You can purchase AdXtokens with fiat currency.
As an advertiser, you can reach your target audience with AdEx. This DApp ensures that ads are delivered to real people. By so doing, this platform reduces the tendency of ad frauds to a massive extent. With this platform, the advertisers money goes straight to the publishers. There is no middleman in between, hence, you are not paying any fees or commission to AdEx.
- Users - With AdEx, you are able to regain full control over your privacy. Hence, as a user, you get only the ads that you feel are useful to you.

When you click on either the publishers feature or the advertisers feature, it would need you to get a metamask
Once you download and install the metamask, then you are good to go.

Things I like about this DApp
First, I like the fact that this platform is built on Ethereum. That is to say, it is built on the blockchain. And as we may know, the blockchain is the future. Very secure. Whatever platform that's on the blockchain, has amazing possibilities.
I also like the fact that publishers can monetize their websites. This is a very great platform for you, if you're having good traffic on your websites. It's a really amazing way of generating revenue.
No commissions are paid to AdEx by the advertisers. The advertisers money goes straight to the publishers. This is really nice, as it reduces the expenses for advertisers.
As an advertiser, this DApp helps reduce tremendously the tendency of ad frauds. Hence, with AdEx, your message gets to real people.
Things I don't like about this DApp
To be sincere, I really like this DApp a lot. And I've been thinking of what I dislike about this DApp, but nothing has come to mind. Hence, I would say that I'm very impressed with this DApp.
I would have mentioned the fact that getting a metamask may discourage some people from getting started. But then, getting a metamask is important, as AdEx is built on the Ethereum blockchain. Just the same way as you must have a Google account to sign up with Google Ads.
Comparison
I would like to compare this DApp with Google Ads. There are many similarities that they both share - both require the three parties I mentioned above, which are the publishers, the advertisers and the users. In both, the advertisers pay, in order to create awareness of their products or services. In both, the publishers have to monetize their sites.
Moving on to their differences - AdEx requires that you get a metamask to get started. Google Ads require that you get a Google account to get started. But, the clear difference between the two platforms is the fact that AdEx is built on the Ethereum blockchain, while Google Ads isn't.
Conclusion
I really like this DApp. I think that it's a very fantastic platform. It makes advertising really amazing. As a result, I would be giving this DApp 4.9/5 stars.
