I feel the same way, we know not all the finer details to give an opinion. There is A side, B side and then there is the the middle ground somewhere close to the truth.

I also thought it would be China and the USA but I think china is more a chess player than street fighter.
Let us hope this comes to an end soon, we really do not need, especially come off the heals of a pandemic.
