It's a good day for an out of town trip. We don't usually go outside the forlur corners of our house but when we do, we go far where we can have a good time with friends and family. And what better place to visit than Batangas.
The Province of Batangas is a 3-4 hour drive from Manila. And takenit from me, it is worth the while wgen you get there. Why not? Batangas is rich in so many interesting things.
Did you know that Batangas is the origin of balisong or butterfly knife or simply known as Batangas knife? I did not realize this until one of the vendors in the resort offered us knives, bolos and balisongs. My husband said it's because Batangas is known for its great blacksmiths and that the balisong was invented herem I had to check it out myself and I found this.
It got me more curious about Batangas so I had to look for more good stuff I could find in this beautiful province. Did you know that Batangas is also known for its kapeng barako? As a coffee lover, this sounded like a paradise to me! This is because the altitude amd the soil condition makes it possible to grow this kind of coffee beans in the province. Don't believe me? Check this out! I need to make sure I take home some coffee granules.
One more good thing about Batangas is the lomi. Whenever I tell friends that I'm going to Batangas, they always eagerly say that I should checm out the Batangas Lomi. This I haven't really tried but I'd really like to see for myself.
And of course, the best thing about Batangas is its beautiful beaches. I have gone to Calatagan and that beach is really gorgeous. Today, we checked in at Kabayan resort in Laiya and I must say the beach is beautiful and baby friendly, I might add.
We arrived in the afternoon so we haven't checked out the entire place yet. But I can imagine a beautiful sunrise tomorrow. We got to call it a night now and prepare for an adventure tomorrow morning.
