We went walking on this field and this grass, locally called makahiya greeted us.

Memories of happy, playful childhood days flashed back. Well, that was because this used to be a challenging play for me and my playmates. This plant you see is called makahiya (English translation: shy) for a reason. It closes its leaves, feigning shyness so to speak, whenever touched.

The challenge was to get a leaf or group of leaves without making it "shy" or closed. I never won, and if my memory servese right, no one among my playmates ever outwitted this plant.
Have you seen this interesting plant?
