Justin! You are a hero! And a super one at that my friend! I applaud π your desire to not let the natural bounty around you go to waste! AND I just LOVE the photo of your daughter, the coconuts, and the bike! Such a good picture!π€©
During my university day's I was literally STARVING! In my 20's, enrolled in the Bachelor of Physical Education program, swimming every second day for a minimum of 1+ hours in the pool, working out in the gym lifting heavy every other day, making my own food, and paying my own way through an overpriced education that I couldn't really afford as a Ramp Agent lifting luggage for upwards to 12 hours a day.
There were these apple trees with plump yellow DELISIOUS fruit growing on the trees at the university outside the English studies building. Those apples were falling and rotting on the ground while all the rich (supported) students walked past.
Not me. I would wait for dusk and climb into the tree with several bags and a backpack and pick AS MANY as I could reach and carry away! It's a distinct memory for me.
My university day's were not easy! But I'm grateful for every one of those experiences... and now over a decade later I take my children to that same tree to give thanks and pick the apples that still grow and fall onto the ground. Bless that life giving tree that stands true and tall all these years!!!
Your story so reminded me of my own.
Keep being a pirate for good my friend! (and stay healthy & strong for your loved ones who adore you!) πͺ
