Woot woot - its the weekend ! My wife and I went for a nice saturday morning walk along the sea front near Edinburgh this morning. It was a little chilly (not bad), but quite beautiful.
The tide had just started to turn as we got there, so it was out, but it came in rapidly over the duration of the walk.
There is a nice wide path down on the promenade and it was quite busy this morning with walkers.
The view above looks over to Crammond Island which you can walk to at low tide - and its quite interesting as it has a number of old defensive structures on it from World War 2.
I quite like the shadow cast by the bench above !
And the views out along the firth (a sea inlet) were quite nice.
We walked up for about 2 miles, and where we turned around we found that someone had dumped a load of rubbish. Not impressed - very selfish and disrespectful of the environment.
The weather was quite changeable, and although mostly sunny, we did get the odd rain drop.
The blue skies and cloud formations kept catching my eye.
We stopped in the cafe above on the way back for a cup of tea and a cake. There were a couple of old jazzers there playing live music. It was quite nice !
Just beyond the cafe, we spotted a patch of wild flowers, so stopped to take a few pics - the one above is my effort.
And the pic above is from my wife.
We quite enjoyed our walk this morning. It was nice to get out early and grab some exercise, even if we did then balance it out with some cake at the cafe !
I hope you are all having a nice saturday ! All the best from Scotland !
