RE: πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ Picking Waterlily And Water Morning Glory From The Public Canals Of Suriname 🌱

in ReggaeJAHM β€’ 4 years ago

We actually eat water morning glory. My late uncle even went into canals to pick them, after which he bound them into heaps and sold them from house to house. We've also just started planting them in our backyard. We know them as water spinach or kang kong. We enjoy this vegetable with a lot of chilis and cook them with shrimp paste.

I didn't know you could cook water lilly's though... Please do make a post about it whenever you cook something with it 😊.

I glad to hear from you I would buy them too if the people sell them but in my place, I have never seen people do that. Here is not have more vegetables a month ago, we can't get tomatoes for two to three weeks already but today I see them but expensive, they are 30srd for four tomatoes and not beautiful. How does your place live? I made a sour soup and I will share it with you. Thank you for your feedback 😊

Yes, the markets are closed and the stores don't really sell these vegetables. I've really only seen this type of vegetable at vendors.

And tomatoes are scarce yes. My mom froze her tomato stash and only uses them when needed.

I made a sour soup and I will share it with you.

Awesome, looking forward to it πŸ‘
