Afri-Tunes Week 57 || Poured Out - Elijah Oyelade (cover) by @jessicaossom

Hello, Afri-Tunes community. I trust that you are all doing well and this post finds you hale and hearty.

Today, for week 57, I will sing a song by Elijah Oyelade titled Poured Out.

Although the song has simple lyrics, it is a powerful spiritual song. In the first line, it says, "Oh what grace and mercy, what amazing love that you have poured out on me."

By the way, power supply has been terrible here, so I had to wake up in the midnight when I saw light to get this video done hehe.

Prior to singing this song, I thought about my life and realized how merciful the Lord has been to me.

Over a year ago, I needed a place near where I worked as a fitness instructor. The problem I faced was a lack of affordable housing options in the area. Additionally, many of the places I did find were in undesirable neighborhoods which I was not comfortable with.

I decided to search for an apartment in a totally different location (Far from where I was working). In the end, I weighed the options and decided it was a risk I could take.

All I had in mind at that time was to try and survive on Hive until I was able to get an alternative job. I had a lot of things on my mind back then and felt overwhelmed.

I had to remind myself of that one person that could put everything in order for me and that person is God.

The Lord sustained me even before I got a remote job as an editor.

There were times I would spend the last money I had and God provided just like he is still doing now.

I have big dreams, and I know I have not achieved all I want to achieve. I believe in the wonder-working of God whose grace has been sufficient for me to do wonders in my life.

I'm not there yet, but I am better than before and I know I will get there.

Oh, what grace and mercy. Even when I did not deserve it, he made sure it was sufficient for me.

This is why I sang this song.

I hope it blesses you.

Hello Jessica, it's my first time visiting your blog. I was listening to the top 4 contenders on the LeoThreads poll for Afritunes, and to be perfectly honest, at the beginning of your video I almost skipped over it. When you were introducing your song the sound quality was so poor I could not understand a word. However, when you started singing, it all changed, and by the end I actually had tears in my eyes, it was so beautiful. So you definitely got my vote in the polls this week! Very well done, and I'm looking forward to your next video!

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving such a beautiful comment. I sincerely appreciate comments like this cause it helps me know where to improve.

I also want to thank you for not skipping the video at the introduction because of the sound quality.

I probably should have used the noise reduction setting during the introduction part. The sound from my standing fan at midnight caused the sound, I didn't think that it would affect the sound that much.

Thanks for this feedback, I have taken note of it.

You're very welcome! 😁 Yes, I'm sure you'll figure out the perfect settings to make the introduction to your songs as nice sounding as your singing. Though it also goes to show that imperfections deserve a chance, otherwise I would never have found your lovely music.
