Another submission for the Ink Art Contest hosted by @melooo182 in collaboration with @ntopaz. I love practicing with black and white and this work just helps me understand what areas I need to improve on.
The general pose. I don't have a clear image on the end result and would usually make things up as I go along.
After some tweaks on the image, painting the background was the next step. Actually, backgrounds are usually done last but this one was relatively easy to do considering how much time I spent playing with some water color brushes. Creating the background was my way of being productive while procrastinating on the main piece which was me having no clue how to proceed at that time.
Finally done with the main piece. The face took me the most time considering the amount of detail with so little surface area to work with. I still need to improve on the eyes and a lot of shading. Just need to make the background layer visible and done.
