Teacher pay, in the USA, is so abysmal that it does not attract a lot of talent that goes elsewhere in the economy. I have had some incredible teachers that made the subject come alive and the process of learning was truly fun. I have had others that are like what you are describing. Reading from a book is not teaching at all. The students can read for themselves. It is a lazy cop out to “teach” in that manner. A good teacher adds to our society in numerous ways just as a bad teacher dissuades people from being curious and trying to unravel the mysteries that surround us. Hang in there artisticscreech.
