Honduras 1985

This is actually the same road that was worked on in 1985.

Back in 1985 we had the US army rebuild and improve the road that leads to what is called el Valle Arriba, a very arid zone west of Olanchito, this road was about 50 Kms in length and the army set up its camp at a place called Las Delicias about 40 Kms from town. I had a friend whose grandfather owned an ice plant, which was not getting much business and he was told that he could probably make some money selling cold sodas to the US soldiers stationed there.

So he bought a few hundred sodas packed them in ice, convinced me to go along with him as I could speak English and off we went. Sales were actually very good, and he was making over 100% in pure profit so he made a routine out of this. Only he diversified, he started taking fruits, now in Olanchito there wasn't much variety so we just took pineapples, ripe bananas, watermelons and oranges.

These were also a big success and business boomed. Of course not everything was great, for example we bought the watermelons for what would be about $2.00 and sold them for $3.00 which I think was OK, but once a few guys said we were robbing them, they were from the south and they said they knew what a watermelon cost. Actually I think the price was fair.

On the other hand I remember this guy, Abdullah, he was a big guy from the Bronx, I remember I used to talk with him and he told me his shoes were #14 so he really was a big guy. Anyway he saw the pineapples asked what they cost, we told him $1 so he bought one and peeled it right there with his knife, he liked it and ate two more. Now we had bought the pineapples for about $0.15 so we actually cheated him but he was OK with it because he liked the fruit.

But what I want to talk about is I got a comment from somebody who says the New Zealand mosque attack is a false flag and that he saw the video and you can see the guy firing at the walls and there are no holes in the wall. Why this reminded me of 1985 is because I remember I was talking to a corporal and I asked him something like how many soldiers were in the camp and he told me: Do you think I'm a fool? I know who you are, you guys are always trying to get us to make mistakes.

I figure he took me for an agent of some US agency that is stalking army personnel to see if they give out secrets or at least that is what I take from it. The thing is he was a fool, I was in reality a 23 year old unemployed bum who took every opportunity to get drunk and who was at that camp just because I was helping out a friend who by the way wasn't even paying me.

What I am trying to tell you is that you can read something into a video but all you get is what you think, not necessarily the truth. Is the guy who told me it is a false flag wrong? How should I know? I guess someone who lives around where the attack took place could give you a legitimate answer.

But the thing is you can't just jump to conclusions based on some very flimsy evidence and then just not accept anything that contradicts what you already believe to be the truth.

This is why cold sodas were such a big hit with army personnel, and I forgot, there was no electricity dozens of miles from the camp so there was no cold anything nearby.
