At the beginning of parenthood, admit it or not, there are a few things that we had undergone some major adjustments. As I recall, before I had my children, my freedom and choices was to my own. And now that life has blessed me with two little hyper midgets ------> IT CHANGED MY LIFE, as well as my husband (of course!!).
Before, our movie bucket list always includes the genre of horror / thriller, action packed, sci- fi, comedy and the last was romantic movies. I could watch them all day and all night. It was later then when I realized all these will be given up too, though I could watch them on times when the kids are badly snooring and wearing a headphone. Yes! I have to be silent still, afraid I will woke them up. Imagine how I fight my giggles or laughter to get out my system.. the struggle is very very real...
In every household, there is really one great movie that the whole family loves watching. That is no other than, CARTOONS only. Nothing less nothing more. And to add up to the delimma, we have to watched them over and over and over and over and over again.. did i just blurted out "OVER" too much?? Well then, if you have kids, surely you would understand.
So, in our family the only movie that got us all hooked up is SHREK! We had truly watched them all, all the OGRE MOVIES! and it is always on repeat each time they remember.. Just imagine the ninja moves I do to erase the vision of OGREs in our home... hahahahahahaha.. sometimes i fail, other times I won.
Anyway, kids will be kids sooooooo as moms we let them be because we simply love our children. When I see them happy, my heart is full.
SHREK 1
The story revolves on Shrek himself where he just wanted to have a descent and alone life. And then he met donkey, who messes most of his alone times and along with the other citizens of Far Far Away Kingdom who had been robbed out of their lands. Thus, they all built a temporary home in the swamp of Shrek. To shooo them back to their homes, SHrek has to rescue a Princess whom he had fallen in love at the end. Love comes in the most unexpected places, time and being.
The very first Shrek Movie has been a major favorite of ours. Well, who would have thought that OGREs also have happy endings. Of course, it was not even assumed that an OGRE has the capacity to love. Merely because we judge them by what they look like in the outside, we tend to forget to see the beauty they have inside. OGREs also have feelings, as Shrek said it himself, Ogres too have layers. Dont be a donkey, dont ask med what are those layers are! hahahahahaha
The movie is pretty darn hilarious! We just cant watch it without laughing our hearts out. Actually, it was donkey's fault. hahahahaha... He is the most gullible donkey in the far far away land. Every time donkey is around, a good laughter is beyond expectations.
Please note that we had watched this several times over, and yet the laughter is still at its peak!
SHREK 2
Since the Shrek 1 was a success, another sequel has been released.
This time, Shrek and Fiona has to go back to Far Far Away to meet the Parents. Well, it's a little ackward to meet the family knowing what will their reactions be on their marriage. There are no parents who would want their pretty little princess be married to an ogre. The King and Queen tried their best to accept the Ogre, but it wasnt easy. It gets to the point where Shrek decided to change his fate by drinking a magical potion to transform himself into a handsomely human being. But, in the end LOVE still endures and begets all.
It was this movie that Puss was introduced. He was basically hired by Fiona's father the King to assasinate Shrek. But he failed because untimely, Shrek saved his life. So, the trio had became a team since then-----> Shrek, donkey and Puss.
He had became so popular because of his famous big big beg eyes. And no one can even resist that...I have read somewhere and I quote, " Puss is a really cool, dynamic sidekick character at that time.
The movie was jam-packed with laughter too, now that Puss is added!
SHREK 3
After the beautiful marriage, Shrek and Fiona was blessed with three beautiful bouncing and super active little ogres. Of course, as new parents it reached to the point that we gets tired and somehow wishes to get back to the old life where silence is at best. That was the biggest mistake Shrek had to go through to fully inderstand what it is really to be a parent. And he learned it the hard way.
He had striked a deal with the sneeky rumplestiltskin. A wrong move, unless you know contracts are being done. He had only wished for one day of no kids to take care to, a one day vacation for himself. Unfortunately, he had lost everything he have. No Fiona to save, No little ogres to feed, No best buds donkey and puss. It was a major set back for Shrek. He has to win back all the people he cares about and it wasnt going to be easy.
So, that's it! There you have it, the most requested and demanded movie of all time in our household. I already lost count how many times we had watched them. Hope you get to watch them too and tell me we have the same sentiments.
Gotta go! I have a bbq lunch to be set up..
