Hello friends of Hive, welcome to my blog.
I'm @oluthomas, and this is my entry for the Hive Music Festival Week 191, Round 2.
For this week, I chose to perform the amazing song “Yahweh” by Pastor Chris Delvan. It is a song of worship that declares and proclaims how glorious and merciful God is to mankind. God is glorious in all His ways, and He has remained faithful from ages past. That is why His name will be praised forevermore.
This is one of my favourite songs, if not my absolute favourite. Hardly a day goes by without me singing it, not because everything is perfect or because I'm 100% alright, but because I see God in every part of my life. Even when I'm going through things I can't explain, He has always been there for me. Whether I have plenty or have little, I still see Him manifesting Himself in my life.
There are times I feel skeptical about my relationship with God, but even in those moments, I still see His hand at work.
My cousin once asked me a very touching and thoughtful question. She said, “Why is it that most people who love and worship God seem to be suffering or going through one challenge or another, while people who don't even appear to care about God seem to have everything working out for them?”
When she asked me, I was speechless because, in many ways, it reflected my own reality too. But I tried to bring some balance to the conversation. I told her that I'm not poor; it's just that at the moment, my pocket is not reflecting my true worth. I also made her understand that even people who are wealthy and successful go through pain and struggles. The difference is that many of them don't make those battles visible for everyone to see.
What I'm simply saying is that no matter who you are in this life, there will be seasons when you feel empty and long for something greater than yourself. And in my own experience, only the love of the Father can truly fill that empty space.
We may all have different perspectives on this, and that's perfectly okay. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments so we can learn from one another.
Thanks for stopping by, and remain blessed.
