제가 가끔씩 지나치는 카페는, 딱정벌레라는 별명이 붙은 오래된 폭스바겐 자동차를 현관 앞에 전시해놓고 사람들의 시선을 끌고 있습니다.
There is a cafe I pass by time to time. The cafe draws people’s attention with an old Volks Wagen in front of the entrance.
이 차는 풍뎅이처럼 귀엽게 생긴 외형으로, 한 때 전 세계인들의 사랑을 받았었죠.
The car called Beetle was loved by everyone for its cute design.
그러나 이 특정 모델은 지금 더 이상 생산이 되지 않습니다.
But that model is discontinued.
그래서 카페주인은 눈요기 감으로 이 차를 구해 와서 활용하고 있어요.
So the owner of the cafe just displays the car as furniture.
자동차가 시동이 걸리지 않는다면 더 이상 자동차가 아니지요. 값비싼 고물일 뿐이예요.
If a car doesn’t start, its life as a car is over; it ends up as an expensive piece of metal.
그래서 폐차장에 실려 가서 쓸 만한 부품들을 재활용하고 나서는, 압축시킨 깡통이 되어 제철소에 가서 쇳물로 변합니다.
So old cars get separated into parts and sold; then it gets compressed and turn into scrap metal to b e melted down for other usage.
말하자면 자동차가 움직이지 않는 순간, 그 생명을 잃는 셈이죠.
Simply put, a car loses its life and identity when it loses its function.
그런 일이 교회에서도 있습니다. 성령의 능력이 없는 교회가 바로 그렇고요.
That happens in churches, too; church without Holy Spirit’s power would be a prime example.
성령의 능력이 없는 교회는 성령이 떠난 교회이고, 그런 교회는 구원을 받을 수가 없습니다.
A church without Holy Spirit’s power is a church Holy Spirit has left; and there is no salvation for those who stay.
그러나 성령이 없는데도 불구하고, 화려한 건물과 럭셔리한 편의시설을 갖추고 있다고 해도 아무짝에도 쓸모가 없지요.
So there is no point in having luxurious interior and accomodation in a church if Holy Spirit is not there.
그러나 교인들은 목회자나 자신들에게 성령의 증거나 변화, 능력이나 열매가 없는데도, 자신들 안에 성령이 계시다고 착각하며 교회마당을 밟고 있으니 기이한 일입니다.
It’s just strange to see people firmly believing they have Holy Spirit within them,even though there is no sign of Him in their lives anywhere.
좁은 문으로 들어가기를 힘쓰라 내가 너희에게 이르노니 들어가기를 구하여도 못하는 자가 많으리라 집 주인이 일어나 문을 한 번 닫은 후에 너희가 밖에 서서 문을 두드리며 주여 열어 주소서 하면 그가 대답하여 이르되 나는 너희가 어디에서 온 자인지 알지 못하노라 하리니 그 때에 너희가 말하되 우리는 주 앞에서 먹고 마셨으며 주는 또한 우리를 길거리에서 가르치셨나이다 하나 그가 너희에게 말하여 이르되 나는 너희가 어디에서 왔는지 알지 못하노라 행악하는 모든 자들아 나를 떠나가라 하리라(눅13:24~27)
“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
“Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
“But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
(Luke 13: 24-27)
나더러 주여 주여 하는 자마다 다 천국에 들어갈 것이 아니요 다만 하늘에 계신 내 아버지의 뜻대로 행하는 자라야 들어가리라 그 날에 많은 사람이 나더러 이르되 주여 주여 우리가 주의 이름으로 선지자 노릇 하며 주의 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아 내며 주의 이름으로 많은 권능을 행하지 아니하였나이까 하리니 그 때에 내가 그들에게 밝히 말하되 내가 너희를 도무지 알지 못하니 불법을 행하는 자들아 내게서 떠나가라 하리라(마7:21~23)
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ (Matthew 7: 21-23)
미련한 자들이 슬기 있는 자들에게 이르되 우리 등불이 꺼져가니 너희 기름을 좀 나눠 달라 하거늘 슬기 있는 자들이 대답하여 이르되 우리와 너희가 쓰기에 다 부족할까 하노니 차라리 파는 자들에게 가서 너희 쓸 것을 사라 하니 그들이 사러 간 사이에 신랑이 오므로 준비하였던 자들은 함께 혼인 잔치에 들어가고 문은 닫힌지라 그 후에 남은 처녀들이 와서 이르되 주여 주여 우리에게 열어 주소서 대답하여 이르되 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 내가 너희를 알지 못하노라 하였느니라(마25:8~12)
The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
“‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
“Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’
“But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
(Matthew 25: 8-12)
위의 세 구절은 예수님으로부터 쫓겨나서 외면 받은 사람들의 이야기입니다.
These 3 passages talk about people who Jesus shunned away.
이 사람들이 누구입니까? 하나님을 모르는 세상 사람들입니까? 아니죠.
Who were these people? Were they worldly people who did not know Jesus? No.
그들의 이야기를 들어보면 입이 떡 벌어집니다.
When you read more and more about them, the more surprises you’ll find.
첫째구절의 사람들은 예수님과 친근하게 교제하며 가르침을 받던 제자들이었으며, 두 번째 제자들은 한술 더 떠서 놀라운 성령의 능력으로 귀신을 쫓아내며 예언을 말하고 능력을 행하던 이들이었습니다.
The first were followers of Jesus who kept a close relationship with him; the second were the ones who received Holy Spirit’s pwer to chase out demons.
세 번째 사람들은 예수님을 학수고대하며 기다리던 처녀들이었죠.
The third ladies who waited for Jesus to come.
그러나 그들은 예수님으로부터 차갑게 외면을 당하고 지옥 불에 던져졌습니다.
But they all were shunned away by Jesus and got thrown to Hell.
그 이유는 첫 번째 사람들은 행악하는 자였으며, 두 번째 제자들은 불법을 행하던 자들이었으며, 세 번째 처녀들은 영적 잠에 취해서 자던 자들이었기 때문입니다..
The reason was: 1. Their deeds were evil; 2. They were lawless; 3. They were spiritually asleep.
이들은 우리네 교회에서 들어왔던 대로, 영접기도행위나 주일성수를 비롯해서 각종 희생적인 신앙행위를 하지 않았던 사람들이 아니라, 예수님과 깊고 친밀한 교제를 나누며 천국을 사모하며 학수고대하던 사람들이었습니다.
Tehy weren’t the ignorant; they were followers of Jesus, wanting to enter Heaven.
이 사람들이 예수님으로부터 외면을 받고 지옥에 던져진 이유가, 우리네 교회지도자나 교인들보다 믿음이 부족하여서 예배의식을 불성실하게 드리며 교회에서 요구하는 각종 신앙행위를 허접하게 한 사람들이 아니었죠.
And the reason for their demise was not because they were faithless.
그 반대로, 놀라운 성령의 능력으로 예수님의 제자로서 폼 나게 살았던 자들이었습니다.
They were the opposite; they were the ones who who lived as Jesus’ followers.
그러나 결과는 경악스럽기 짝이 없지요.
But their demise was surprisingly grim.
어떻게 이 사람들이 예수님에게 쫓겨나서 지옥 불에 던져질 수 있을까요? 이상하고 기이하지 않습니까?
How and why were they thrown out to Hell? Isn’t it just too strange and weird?
여러분의 천국의 자격을 철썩 같이 믿고 있는 근거가 무엇입니가?
What is the reason behind your firm belief in your qualification to enter Heaven?
영접기도행위와 예배행위 그리고 그동안 교회에서 행했던 희생적인 신앙행위와 더불어, 그동안 받은 기도응답과 은혜 등은 근거로 들이밀 겁니다.
You’d bring up now diligently participated in church activities, how your prayers were answered, and so on.
그렇다면 위의 세 부류의 사람들은 당신이 시행했던 희생적인 신앙행위는 물론 은혜와 기도응답이 없어서 지옥 불에 던져졌겠습니까? 아니요.
Then, did people from those passages go to Hell because they didn’t do what you’ve been doing? No.
그들이 지옥 불에 던져진 이유는 행악하는 자들이었고, 불법을 행하는 자들이었고, 영적 잠을 자고 있던 자들이었기 때문입니다.
They ended up in Hell because they were evil doers, lawless, and spiritually asleep.
그렇다면 여러분은 이들과 다릅니까?
Are you any different?
여러분은 불법을 행하는 악행을 저지르지 않았고, 깨어서 천국을 준비하는 자들입니까가? 오홋, 그런가요?
Are you alert, preparing to enter Heaven? Really?
죄를 짓는 자마다 불법을 행하나니 죄는 불법이라(요일3:4)
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. (1 John 3: 4)
항상 기뻐하라 쉬지 말고 기도하라 범사에 감사하라 이것이 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희를 향하신 하나님의 뜻이니라(살전5:16~18)
Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18)
나는 너희를 위하여 기도하기를 쉬는 죄를 여호와 앞에 결단코 범하지 아니하고 선하고 의로운 길을 너희에게 가르칠 것인즉(삼상12:23)
As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right. (1 Samuel 12: 23)
불법을 행하는 자들이 누구입니까? 바로 죄를 짓는 자들입니다.
Who are the worker of lawlessness? The sinners.
죄란 무엇입니까? 하나님이 싫어하는 말과 행동, 생각과 성품을 아우르는 단어이죠.
What is sin? It’s anything and everything God despises.
하나님이 가장 싫어하는 것은 피조물이 주인을 찾아오지 않는 행위입니다.
What God despises the most if the creation not seeking its creator.
이는 하나님을 주인으로 심기기 싫어하는 속내는 드러내기 때문이예요.
This simply shows the creation’s reluctance to serve God as his/her master.
그래서 여러분은 하루 종일 깨어서 쉬지 않고 하나님의 이름을 부르며 전심으로 성령을 간구하는 기도의 습관을 들였습니까?
Do you constantly stay awake and call God and ask Him to come?
아니라면 여러분의 영적 잠을 취해 하나님의 뜻을 무시하고, 자기 생각과 자기 계획, 자기 욕심대로 살아가는 악행을 저지르는 불법한 자인 것이죠.
If not, you are a worker of lawlessness who are spiritually asleep, living and following your worldly desires.
물론 제 주장처럼 가르치는 교회는 거의 없죠.
Of course, not many churches teach what I teach at CSA.
그러나 예수님은 성경 곳곳에서 수도 없이 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
But Jesus said this many times, throughout the Bible.
그래서 이 시대에는 사도들과 제자들처럼 성령의 능력으로 영혼을 구원하며 천국을 준비하는 교인들을 눈 씻고 찾아볼 수 없습니다.
These days, you can hardly find people with true power of the Spirit who carry God’s will.
그런데도 자신들이 지옥 불에 던져질 것을 꿈에도 생각하지 않아요.
However, they don’t doubt for a moment that they have the right to enter Heaven.
그게 바로 이상하고 기괴한 일입니다.
Strange, isn’t it?
그 이유는 우리네 교회지도자와 교인들에게 미혹의 영이 속여서 지배하고 있기 때문입니다.
It happens because spirits of falsehood deceive and control the church leaders and their followers.
그래도 저의 주장이 믿기지 않는다면, 심판대 앞에 서는 날에 성경의 진실을 알게 될 겁니다.
If you are still skeptical, you’ll have to wait and see, when you stand in front of God.
그러나 그 때는 더 이상 기회가 주어지지 않는다는 것도 잊지 마시기 바랍니다.
But please know that you won’t be able to ask for another chance.
