You know I really wonder if they don't plant "typical" fruit trees is because they would say that when the fruit drops it just makes a big mess and they don't want to have to deal with it! Seems like there should be some tree varieties out there that should be able stay more colorful longer than your typical tree!

They do make a mess, but there are groups in each region who will collect fallen fruit and use it (if the locals do not). The mess is worth the tradeoff for fresh fruit anyway!
Hey that is good to hear! I don't like it when food gets wasted just because no one picked it off the tree or gathered it up! So that is good news that you have people there doing that!
