The Man I Almost Had
The real me remained a mystery
Tried to act right to get approval
In a world where appearance is crucial
I became the goody-two-shoes they wanted me to be
It continued until my identity drifted away from me
All I wanted was to be accepted as I am
To free myself from this suffocating sham
And then you came into my life
The next victim who's to experience strife
Next in line to suffer in my dirty hands
But then you activated my lacrimal glands
You were warm and accepting
All my bad doings meant nothing
You embraced me and thawed my frozen heart
The smile you gave was a magnificent work of art
I found myself change for the better
I realized, I want to be with you forever
But the situation we're in is hurtful
I'm swallowed by guilt that's awful
I had a choice, surely, I did
Decided that this feelings, I must get rid
I don't want us to experience the pain
I just secretly hoped we'd meet again
Maybe that time, we'd meet in a different circumstance
Perhaps, this love I have for you would be granted another chance
Who knows? By that time, you're no longer the man I almost had
Instead, you're my special half; the man my kids would call "dad"
My heart dances in this overflowing music of emotion
As we continue living; finding dreams in this vast ocean
For when fate brings us together again someday
That time, I'll never ever let you get away

I wrote the poem above while putting myself in Pudding's shoes. It wasn't shown in the anime (I guess), but in the manga, Pudding-chan erased parts of Sanji's memories, including memories of her. Forcefully making someone forget you because it's for the better, hurts... I think. I personally wanted the two of them to be together. YES! I ship them..ww I think if they were born from a different family... or perhaps met in a different way, they would've been happier. The situation they were in was so difficult. Minus the killing part, I believe their situation exists in real life.
There are instances when people had the right love at the wrong time. Wait, isn't that a song? Well, in the end... love is complicated. We won't know what'll happen until we experience it first hand.
Anyway, I am glad that I was able to catch up with the latest anime episodes. I purposely made them pile up, so I could watch them in one go. For now, I guess I'll try to watch it every week alongside Hinomaru Sumo, Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru, Yakusoku no Neverland and Black Clover. <3
