Wonderful posting @riverflows :) We know the planet works off of cause and effect. I have often wondered what we have missed out on because of past generations. We see what our children and grandchildren are going to lose out on already. The thought of various food that are becoming slowly scarce. Just like what happens should the bees disappear? We know on one scale it affects flowering and pollination, which affects plant growth. What other things would be affected if we don't work on change.

Now I'm going to have to go look up the Moa, I had not heard of them before. I did know about Stellar's sea cow. I did a report in school on the differences between a sea cow and a manatee 😊 Of course half the class thought I was crazy, but you can see by the depiction in the picture you have shown, there really is a difference.
