Liverpool are setting the pace once again in the title run in, as Liverpool defeat Southampton 3-1 at St. Mary's Stadium. Liverpool now lead Manchester City 2 points in the tight title race, with Manchester City having a game in hand over Liverpool. With 6 games remaining until the end of the season, it would be an exciting end of the season.
Southampton shocked the visitors as a quick goal by Shane Long in the 9th minute put Southampton ahead. Liverpool equalized from a Naby Keita goal in the 36th minute. In the second half, Mo Salah then scored in the 80th minute to end his goal drought, and put Liverpool ahead 2-1. Liverpool Captain Jordan Henderson then scored in the 86th minute to complete the 3-1 victory.
Liverpool now sit in first place with 82 points, 2 points ahead of Manchester City with 80 points, and a game in hand. Liverpool now have 6 games left to try and win the English Premier League title in a very long time. Southampton meanwhile are in 16th place with 33 points, 5 points ahead of 18th place Cardiff City.
