Bakya Mo Neneng Dance

I took some photos of the presentations in a city mall such as shown above. It was for the celebration of the history of Taguig city, Philippines.

The dance performed in the photos above is called "Bakya Mo Neneng" dance. Which can be translated literally in English as " Your wooden clogs Neneng or Neneng's wooden clogs".

It is a folk dance in which the wooden clogs were held in hands and used as props as well as to create some sounds by tapping it together or colliding it while doing some dance steps.

The bakya or wooden clogs used to be a commonly used footwear in the Philippines and until now, there are some modern variations of it that are available in the market.
