Yes Bless Reggaejahmin HIVERZ.
Sunday again! This dish was from Friday when my wife and I went for lunch. It may be the last time for while till we are able to eat out for lunch like this on a Friday as work starts back for me next week.
Life Update
Yup! I found a job. Same line of work but closer to home. So I used up all my paid holidays in the last job and took off two weeks. It’s funny how I wasn’t really looking for a job hardcore but the information came from a coworker and so decided what the heck, let me just apply. They only wanted one person and interviewed 8, interestingly they chose me. I guess the ole Jamaican razzle dazzle caught them as I did some Usain Bolt TPS ( total physical response) in my demo lesson.

While I was on the break, I still had my part time gigs in the evening and spent my days doing things I haven’t had the time to do in the busyness whirlwind I was in. Things like going to the dentist, the doctor, preparing documents, short day trips to take photos and experimenting with NFTS on OpenSea. I also moved around some crypto to prepare for the incoming “travel rule”. I tried to do the whole Netflix binge watching thing but only managed to watch one series, season two of Top Boys.
The Hamburg lunch
Now the food we had were hamburgs, not sure if that is what they are called in other countries but actually living here is the first time I came across the term and the food. Hamburg is the meat patty without the bread, usually served with rice and veggies while hamburger is the meat patty between the buns.

I ordered a regular size well done hamburg with cheese and my wife the same size but rare topped with mozzarella cheese and a thick slice of tomato. What surprised me was the amount of cheese these dishes came with and how they did it. As you can see in the picture above, they had a huge pot of cheese that was melted and then poured on top of the sizzling hot Hamburg dishes. Interestingly on my dish, they also grated some cheese on it after. Remember also that my wife’s dish had a mozzarella topping already but it also got the cheese melt. So it’s double cheesiness on both plates. I would never think of putting that much cheese on these meals and I was not expecting it at all. But it actually tasted frigin good!
Is Hamburg known in your blip on the map? Or is this just a Japanese thing? What do they call it in other countries?
