This morning, I started my usual activities by going to the rice fields to monitor the water conditions. I ensured that the water flow in the rice fields remained smooth and sufficient to maintain soil moisture. Seeing the rice fields starting to grow well gave me a refreshing start to the day. After ensuring everything was in good condition, I returned home to enjoy a cup of hot coffee on the terrace. This simple moment felt so delicious, accompanied by the cool morning air and the sound of birds chirping in the surrounding fields.
After enjoying my coffee, I continued sewing a peci (traditional Islamic prayer cap) for religious purposes. Sewing a peci requires patience and focus, especially in adjusting the size and pattern to ensure a neat finish. Time seemed to pass quickly as my hands continued to move over the fabric, and before I knew it, the sun was already starting to set towards the west.
Towards the afternoon, I returned to the rice fields to continue fertilizing. I brought the NPK and urea fertilizer I had mixed earlier in a small drum. I manually spread the fertilizer evenly over the entire field. I used a sarong to support the drum to keep it stable while walking along the rice field embankments. The sowing process was quite tiring, but I felt satisfied seeing the results of my own hard work in maintaining the fertility of the plants.
This afternoon, a gentle breeze blew, carrying the scent of wet soil and freshly applied fertilizer. I stood for a moment gazing at the rice paddies, hoping the rice would grow well and the harvest would be bountiful.
