The morning felt so peaceful as I enjoyed a cup of hot coffee on the veranda. The steam rose slowly, blending with the fresh morning air. As I sipped my coffee, my thoughts focused on the work awaiting me in the sewing room. Feeling warm and energized, I began sewing a prayer cap a task that had become part of my daily routine. With meticulous care, I measured, cut the fabric, and sewed each piece of the cap until it was neat and ready to wear.
As noon approached, with several orders nearing completion, I prepared to go out and gather additional materials. I headed to the shopkeeper's office, where I usually buy fabric and other supplies for the next order. The place was bustling with other craftspeople, also searching for the best materials for their work. Once all the materials were gathered, I returned home, relieved that my production needs for the next few days were secure.
In the afternoon, after temporarily suspending my sewing work, I went to the rice fields. The sky was turning golden, and the air felt cooler. I walked slowly along the rice paddy embankments, observing the rice plants as they began to grow well. There was a sense of satisfaction in seeing the calming expanse of green, the result of daily hard work and attention. I passed several other farmers who were also inspecting their fields. We exchanged greetings and shared a little about the weather and irrigation conditions.
As the sun set, the atmosphere in the rice paddies grew more peaceful. A gentle afternoon breeze blew, carrying the distinctive scent of soil and young rice. Moments like these always make me grateful being able to work with my own hands at home, and in my free time still having time to care for the natural world that is the source of life.
