Afritunes Week 70 || Be My Man - Asa (cover) by @jessicaossom

I am excited as always to be back with my entry for this week's Afritune week 70. Today I will be singing Asa's song titled 'Be My Man'.

I have always been a fan of Asa's music, and I have been looking forward to performing this song. But the challenge for me has been the lyrics.

I know the song very well and when each part is supposed to come but I have a hard time memorizing the words. Here's a confession: I didn't really put my heart into trying to learn the lyrics and sing them offhand.

It's easier for me to just follow it by listening to the song. I guess I'm too lazy to invest in learning the words and making a bigger effort. Once again, I apologize to people who expect me to know the lyrics offhand. I will put some more effort to be able to remember the words next time hehe.

There are a lot of Asa's songs I would love to cover, like 'Murder in the USA', 'There is Fire on the Mountain' and many more like that.

I'll start by learning the lyrics of 'Murder in the USA' and I'm confident I can learn all the other songs quickly. I'm looking forward to singing along and sharing the joy with others. I don't know when, though. However, if I really put my heart into it, I will do the cover real soon.

ASA is a phenomenal singer... her songs have depth in lyrical meaning and instrumentation also... You did well ooo, plus I love the energy you used.

Well, me since I can't cram the lyrics of songs 😅 I use the Teleprompter feature of Capcut app. The only condition is that it'll be front camera mode for videoing (which is less quality than using the rear camera). The screen will be showing the lyrics and this will be moving up according to how you arrange it... then when you click record.. the lyrics will be scrolling, and you'll be facing the camera and singing 😅😅😅

That's what I've been doing for a while that makes it seem as if I cram the lyrics 😅 me dah hate cramming. Although it'll be nice to know the lyrics wella

Thank you, Ksam. I had to go check my phone after reading your comment to see if I still had the capcut app. I never knew it had a feature that allowed one to read lyrics from the screen while singing. I need more explanation on that, please. Yeah, it's always good to know your lyrics.

Meanwhile, my birthday is coming up on July 21 and I have planned to gift myself a guitar. I will brief you about it later, just know that you will be helping me get it. :)
