I took a mini stroll at lunch hour today. It was beautiful, but there was a brisk breeze and I was not able to be out for long. Winter ebbs away slowly in Minnesota, and as you will see from my pictures, there is still a bit of snow on the ground here and there. But I felt so happy being outdoors. It is glorious when the ice finally melts and we can venture out!
Come on along. I will take you on my little walk.
Thank you to @tattoodjay for running the #wednesdaywalk contest, and to @elizacheng for running the #makemesmile contest.
My Wednesday Walk
When you step out the door of the office building where I work, this is what you see.
I know, it's still a little brown! We won't see green for another month here. But let's take a right and walk along the path a little. Now here's what we see.
Beautiful, isn't it? I do love pretty architecture! I'm not sure why the little black chain doesn't go all the way around. Maybe they only want you to fall in if you're in certain places.
Walking a little further, we look back and see both the building to the right and the one where I work to the left. Aren't the lines and angles lovely?
Let's continue our stroll around the pond! Soon, when it's a bit warmer, we can sit down and enjoy the view from one of the benches.
Aww! Someone made a cute rock formation.
Okay, here's what I really wanted to show you. Yesterday this pond was half covered in a thin sheet of ice. Today, that little patch is all that's left. And as I mentioned, there are still some snow patches.
More snow!
Now we are at the far end of the pond. Looking straight back, you can see my building and its reflection. My office is smack in the middle of the building on the second floor from the top. I have a lovely view of the ponds from up there, and I take pictures of them all the time. Up until recently they were completely frozen.
Okay, time to head back in! But wait, what's this? Is it...?
Yes, it is. Ducks! Just before heading back into the building, I spotted a charming mallard couple swimming along together. And that really made me smile.
Thanks for taking a Wednesday Walk with me!
