Community Matters!

in #success7 years ago

To say that I love STEEM would be the understatement of the century.....

When I find something I have a passion for, I go all in on it. Entrepreneurs are weird like that...We don't really have a plan B.

Our plan B goes something like this...

Oh well, that didn't work. Let's try something else...

So I'm not saying STEEM didn't work...Far from it LOL I'm even more hooked to this blockchain than I was when I first joined. But my back up plans don't really exist...So I'm all in on STEEM.

While I've been developing @SteemSavvy I wanted to bring my experience in community building and marketing to the blockchain and dedicate my attention to working with Steemians each and every day. And for that to happen, I needed to be a Guinea Pig myself, and practice what I preached. I needed to have a game plan in place that anyone could follow.

That game plan was the 5-500-5000 Plan.

I talk about it a lot and it's a big part of the @SteemSavvy training. But it starts with a simple idea...

5 engagements a day! The idea behind this is that if you spend the time to build relationships with 5 Steemians a day, this will help snow ball the rest of your journey...

5 engagements -> 500 followers -> 5000 Steem Power

But how does 5 simple engagements help your journey? How does this help snowball your experience here on STEEM...? And better yet, how does it help the STEEM community? Let's take a look.

steemsavvy

You'll notice a word I mentioned above...Community!

You see, this is what makes STEEM unique among the thousands of blockchain products out there. Sure there are some very powerful communities in other blockchains, but on STEEM...We are family. We're the underdogs...The little engine that could!

Community.

You can see the projects being developed. We are witness to the massive support Steemians have for each other. Tribes are being developed and nurtured here. Yeah we have fights and even a new token called 'Drama'...But that's what families do. They bring each other up and sometimes they bicker...However at the end of the day, this community wants to see Steem grow as a whole!

I believe in the STEEM community.

I believe in the power of people and when we have the same passions and align them, great things can happen.

And I believe communities should be rewarded. I try to do that with all the content I do here on STEEM...

steembasicincome

I reward people who comment on my blogs, engage with me, share @SteemSavvy and work for our...Community.

Sometimes it's in the form of @SteemBasicIncome units but it's always int he form of an upvote and response.

That's what communities do...They support each other.

And the answer to the question of why do we focus on 5 engagements a day early in Steem Savvy training is this...When people feel valued and rewarded, they will continue to be an integral part of the STEEM community.

And I saw that last night at our Sunday Session!

The community that we are building within our Discord server came out in full support, and we had a fantastic round table discussion. But what's most important...We saw new Steemians jump up on camera and ask questions. The seed has been planted in these people's minds and they SEE the potential of STEEM.

Folks...We're just getting started. I stated this last night that in year 3 of Facebook's existence....We could 'poke' each other!

Here we can...

Battle each other in the @SteemMonsters arena

Take Steem on the go and engage with each other with @Partiko

Blog our thoughts and passions to the world with @SteemPress

Showcase our vlogs and video content with @Dtube

Find amazing products to share with @SteemHunt

Take epic pics with @Appics

Lost weight and get fit with @ActiFit

Stream our gaming with @Vimm

Build virtual empires with @DrugWars

And so much more.....

We are STEEM!

A community of passionate individuals that are being products of our blockchain! Sharing our passions, rewarding our followers and growing one of the most epic communities online....

I can't wait to see what the next 3 years will bring...

But make no mistake out it...It starts and ends with community!

You are so right Jon. I can totally agree. By increasing my engagement I see how I grow.

P.S.: And I forgot, many thanks for the SBI and your continuing support.

for sure man. thank you for the continued support as well. means a lot.

Posted using Partiko iOS

What I cannot wait to see what you will come up with for SteemSavvy.

You are always coming up with something new.

Posted using Partiko iOS

thanks man. yeah so many ideas brewing. but for now. community first :)

Posted using Partiko iOS

Thanks for the SBI!

To me the end is SP/stake. The means to that end is engagement(vote, comment, follow, interaction) in a community or communities.

The 5-500-5000 plan puts that very succinctly in a memorable way!

it’s been working. i mean it’s not sexy. and it’s not going to sell the sizzle. but everyday. showing up. commenting. engaging.

We are Family, and I really feel it more so than ever before. I think it is what will take Steem to another level :)

Thanks for the post Jon and all you do ;)

thanks man. yeah i believe so as well. and it’s our claim to fame. the community is what drives steem and the innovation is what will attract the attention.

Indeed true in every words you said bro!

This game plan is phenomenal

appreciated. it’s working. would love to see more people get results too.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Traction is definitely getting going as we continue to see new accounts coming on to the platform. Great onboarding communities like SteemSavvy are critical to keep the momentum up! Keep up the great work!

Posted using Partiko iOS

thank you sir. appreciate the kind words. and yeah things just feel right at this time. for everything steem related.

Posted using Partiko iOS

What do you consider to be engagements? Would that be comments like this?

Posted using Partiko Android

absolutely. that’s the fuel and lifeblood of steem when it comes to growing relationships. i believe that.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Hahah. Actual point if person will think he has plan B to do in life then he won't give 100% to 1st plan because from inside of his brain he feels secure and comfortable so it STOPS him to do his BEST .

We as a community STAND for each other and help to grow each other .

Posted using Partiko Android

i mean it makes sense for me. by no means am i an expert in this stuff lol but when i go all in on something my focus for other things isn’t there.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Great post with lots of info and additional information. Thank you for everything you do and will do. @SteemSavvy @jongolson

We are a big family and together we have survived this long bear market!

Posted using Partiko Android

i think the bulls are starting to come back around ;)

Posted using Partiko iOS

I prefer organic and natural growth! :)

agreed!!

Posted using Partiko iOS

Thanks for your post Jon. The only thing that I am sorry is that I didn't find Steemit (and steem) earlier... I am just 2-3 months here, and I am already feel like a part of the family...
Discovered lately SBI and now I am regularly giving it to others... The feeling is great...
And I always remember one sentence from one of torrent summits.. "Sharing is caring!"

Cheers!

agreed! oh i know the feeling. seeing everyone that joined steem in like 2016....i can’t believe it flew under my radar. but so glad we all joined now while the excitement is building.

The best part of my STEEM experience so far has been engaging in the #community.. From commenting on posts of Steemians with similar interests, to entering art contests. It's been great, and I'm excited by the potential and opportunities yet to come!

Thanks, @jongolson!!! Your passion for STEEM is contagious!

appreciate that. i’m glad to hear it too. because i think the more people that share their love for this place, the more new steemians we will attract.

Posted using Partiko iOS

I agree 100%.. I've also been spreading the STEEM word to my friends! There are so many ways to engage, and the list keeps growing..

The bigger question is 5 better than 7 @nathanmars vs @jongolson

Posted using Partiko Android

ha ha ha never that. 5 graduates to 7 ;)

Posted using Partiko iOS

The future ia just so bright for steem for many people to recognised yet

i feel like we’re in this secret club that the rest of the world doesn’t know exists yet lol

Posted using Partiko iOS

Sure. And i am glad i realised earlier

I need to watch SteemSavvy Sunday Session recording to see who else popped up at the round table. :) Cool concept, very open, much like the blockchain!

you will recognize quite a few ;)

Posted using Partiko iOS

Cool! Your preaching works! :)

Posted using Partiko Android

slowly but surely lol

Posted using Partiko iOS

Right on the point @jongolson, you are one of the pillars of this community, and the community is great, we support and lift each other up, and we all get better for it.

And the focus of an entreprenuer is what we all need, go all in and work, and just continue to make it work until it does, and never give up, no plan B.

That's the sign of greatness, so stay awesome, thanks!

Posted using Partiko Android

appreciate the kind words man. yeah that’s just how i’m built. i need to focus or else my mind wanders and i get nothing accomplished lol

Wow, thanks to this post I finally know that people talking about drugwars don't mean their job at the DEA or a TV series or something. And all the other options Steem gives. Months ago I made an account and been kinda wandering around clueless trying to figure out what the fuzz is all about. Because I didn't give myself enough time, and honestly for real don't have too much time, I kept clueless and just clocked some buttons here and there that kinda looked logic, post a few replies here and there without ever knowing how these people got such massive amounts of rewards and honestly wasnt really interested in figuring out either. But this port told me some more that got me interested in it as something valuable. Thanks for that little push I needed. Well appreciated.

But a little still a little critical point. Or 2. And it's more as of a warning.
I see you comparing Steem to Facebook. it made me stop breathing for a sec and almost was instantly done with it. Please take lesson 1 for being a successful platforn for granted: don't ever get yourself seduced by the dark side and become a snake like Mark Zuckerberg. Pull Facebook as an existing 'something to compare' out of your head and don't scare the Steem community with that dirty word. 😜
And I think the focus on growth should be a little more to the background. There are too many examples of communities or any other thing that saw it's fast expanding or massive adopting also be it's pitfall and it's downfall. And here DOES Facebook come as a great example lol😂. But those are just my 2 cents and personal opinion, after all I'm not the one pulling strings on this.
Thanks anyway for having me standing with one leg in the Steem project instead of one toe. 👍👍👍

Posted using Partiko Android

thanks for the comments and feedback. ya i will never think steem is like facebook. more of a comparison of what little we could do on facebook at year 3 compared to steem. i believe we are light years ahead here.

Posted using Partiko iOS

That is true and huge proof that budget isn't the solution to everything.
