I continue with my “go with the flow” approach for this vacation as we are off to an exciting adventure today as we head to a private island until Friday. This has put me at a challenge with my Steem presence as I believe there will not be any connectivity for me during this time. While not concerned with my engagement as I will eventually catch up, I do not want my streak of daily posts since Hard Fork 20 to stop! Therefore, I have asked a fellow Steemian that I onboarded almost year ago to write a post for me and I would split the rewards. @gamercrypto is from the family which I have been supporting on his journey here. He mostly posts about gaming and will do so here today. Let me know your thoughts as to adding some variety here!
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - New DLC: Operation Grand Heist Review

The second DLC of the latest Call of Duty game, Black Ops 4 has now been released for all platforms and comes with one of the largest number of additions ever seen in a DLC for the Call of Duty franchise. Despite continued competition from the likes of the popular Fortnite and even new games like Anthem and Apex, gamers continue to show up for the FPS favorite Call of Duty. Given the approach that the developers have taken this year, the Call of Duty game now acts as if it is three games in one as now options for players have expanded to having the Battle Royale game mode called Blackout in addition to the traditional Multiplayer and Zombie modes. This has brought diversity to the game which have made hardcore fans stick around for most DLCs.
The most popular game mode, Multiplayer will have a couple of additions for this DLC. First, a new Specialist playable character called Outrider will be available. This is similar to the one returning from Black Ops 3 in which you can use a bow and arrow to play against other players. In addition, 3 new weapons we now be available from the in game Black Market which will add some diversity to the selection of gear for players seeking something new. One of the more exciting additions, as usual, are the addition of new multiplayer maps, Lockup and Casino. New maps are always exciting to play as the add new experiences for the players. One of the more highly anticipated additions for this season is the return of League Play which is a competitive based game mode that uses professional gamer rules in addition to a special ranking system to match players of similar skills as they battle for the top of their Divisions in hope to reach the highest Divisions for bragging rights!
Blackout, the Battle Royale game mode, will also bring some new content for players. A new destination on the map will be released that is inspired by previous multiplayer maps, Buried and Outlaw. They are also adding a number of structural changes to the maps to mix things up a bit. The new Specialist Outrider will also be available for this game mode. They are also bringing a new leveling system, similar to the traditional multiplayer Prestige system so that hardcore gamers have a new progression system to strive for more. They also have changed up some of the game mechanics as an option to the Battle Royale game mode called Hot Pursuit which is an interesting twist to Cops and Robbers. This allows for players to actually respawn into the game if at least one in their team survives a stage in the map. It will be interesting to see how this spin is received as it differentiates from the traditional Battle Royale modes.
Lastly, Zombies will also release Classified as the first standalone available DLC within a larger DLC ever for Call of Duty. It will include the “Death-Con Five” Gauntlet which is based in the Pentagon with versions of the popular characters Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai. This will be a 30 round based game with a number of challenges for those hardcore Zombie players. It will include a new perk in game as well as some signature weapon support for those that play for progression.
Call of Duty continues to add content for every type of player as the gaming market continues to heat up given the competition seen around the industry. Despite losing market share to competitors given the rising popularity of Battle Royale systems, Call of Duty continues to be the best selling game franchise in history of console gaming. The eSports side also continues to experience great growth as the viewership grows and the professional scene becomes more mainstream with other popular eSport game in the space. There are still a number of DLCs expected for the game and the developers continue to demonstrate their commitment to delivering constant content to make sure their fans are busy.
