The morning begins with a hot cup of coffee, always a constant companion to lift the spirits. The strong aroma and the soothing warmth of the steam seem to give me a boost before I begin my day. After a few sips, I prepare to carry out my daily routine delivering bread to my favorite shops around Krueng Geukueh, North Aceh Regency.
With my pedicab loaded with freshly baked bread, I begin my journey along the still-quiet morning streets. The air is fresh, a gentle sea breeze carries the salty aroma of the coast, while the sky begins to brighten, with hints of sunlight filtering through the trees. Every shop I visit is waiting for its new stock of bread to sell to their customers.
Today is a busy day arguably the longest and most extensive delivery of the week. Several destinations are at the end of the road, bordering districts, making the journey feel longer but more meaningful. At each stop, I receive friendly smiles from shop owners and familiar customers. From there, a sense of satisfaction emerges not only from the job being done, but also from the connection I've made with so many people along this route.
When all the bread was delivered, my body felt tired but my heart was at peace. There was a certain satisfaction in seeing happy customers and busy shops again. On the way home, I paused on the side of the road to enjoy the rest of my coffee in a small thermos while watching the traffic begin to pick up.
