This morning I started my day with a cup of hot coffee, its soothing aroma. The thin smoke rose slowly into the still-humid morning air, perfect for gathering my energy before starting my daily activities. Afterward, I prepared to start my job delivering bread to several shops around Krueng Geukueh, North Aceh Regency.
Today was the longest route I've traveled in the past week. The roads were still deserted early in the morning, but the sun was beginning to shine through the trees along the roadside. The sea breeze from the coast brought a refreshing, cooling breeze along the way. Each time I arrived at my regular shop, I was greeted with the friendly smile of the owner, eagerly awaiting the bread to be sold.
On the way, I took a break under a shady tree growing along the seashore. From where I sat, I could see small waves crashing against the rocks along the shore. Meanwhile, I sorted through the bread boxes separating the empty ones from the filled ones so the next delivery process would run more quickly and neatly. Simple moments like this often feel delightful, because besides being able to rest, I can also enjoy the calming beauty of the sea.
Late in the afternoon, after all the bread had been successfully delivered to its destination, I returned home. There was still one small task ahead: collecting and burning household waste in the backyard. This activity has become a routine for me every few days, keeping the surrounding environment clean and comfortable to live in. The small fire from the pile of dry trash glowed golden orange as the sun began to set in the west.
The day felt long, but it was filled with gratitude. I savored every second of the journey from sipping coffee in the morning, delivering bread to various locations, to closing the day by keeping the house clean. Although simple, all of this is part of my daily life, lived with sincerity and responsibility.
