@Sreypov and I went for a walk in search of groceries, smiles and laughs, and a picture of the nastiest food ever, mayo.

πͺ OFF TO WENG'S SUPERMARKT πΆββοΈ

Β Β Β At least once a week I an aim to fill a day with laughter and smiles. The family gets a bit down in spirits at times, but I can't blame them, we've been stranded nearly a year.
Β Β Β We needed a few items from the Chinese corner shop, so we headed out on foot to this morning to grab a few items and get some natural Vitamin D.
BEANS
Β Β Β As often happens, we arrived too early, which is 8:00am in Suriname. We saw some activity inside though, so we knew they'd be open in a few minutes, and decided to take some photos with the various marketing art that lines the exterior walls of Weng's Supermarkt.
COFFEE AND GOUDA
Β Β Β Next up was instant coffee and gouda, one of which reveals the Dutch colonial history of Suriname. Even though Dutch is the national language, they seem to love giving brands Spanish names like "Magnifico" and "Pacifico."
220 VOLTS OF ENERGY
Β Β Β We made to sure snap a pic in front of the "Omoe Nak Mi Wan" wall, complete with another Suriname brand, "Pacifico."
Β Β Β Although I've seen slightly different spellings, an "omu / omoe" is a Chinese storekeeper or uncle, and "naki / nak" is to hit or smack. "Mi" is easy enough, "me" and "wan" is one. This might be translated as "Chinese storekeeper hit me one!"
MAYO - I WILL NEVER ENDORSE MAYO
Β Β Β Saving the worst for last, I present you mayonnaise, the most disgusting food product in the world. I hated this stuff as a kid long before I was vegan. One smell of it and I knew this was a food not fit for human consumption.
Β Β Β To all of you mayo lovers, I hope you come to your senses one day and realize this stuff is a flavorless waste product. Anyways, after the mayo shot, Weng's opened its doors and we made our way inside.
NEEM, NEEM EVERYWHERE
Β Β Β I took one shot inside the store of neem soap, but that's just the tip of the iceberg, because Suriname is in love with all things neem. It seems every other house in Paramaribo has its own neem tree, but I am more of a curry leaf man myself, which isn't nearly as common here.
NOW LET'S SMILE AND LAUGH
Β Β Β After getting what we needed and heading back home, I asked @Sreypov to take some fun and/or funny pictures in front of the Bechaniestraat sign. "Get some air," I shouted, and Pov leaped for the moon, only to create some unforgettable shots.
HIGHER
Β Β Β Pov jumped like she was trying to spring out of here all the way back to Cambodia. Either way it gave us some smiles and laughs, especially the person walking behind us that witnessed this foolery.
