AFRITUNES CHRISTMAS EVENT_// Mongbo Yesu Angna by The Eggon Culture

IMG_20221220_121112_3.jpg

It's Afritunes Christmas event and am here to give you the vibes of an african man. I hope you all are having a pleasant day? Merry Christmas and a happy new Year to You all in advance. I belong to the Eggons which is one among the numerous tribes in Nigeria, Africa. The Eggons are located in north central region of Nigeria basically, I am proud to be an Eggon man though I have some difficulties speaking and understanding the tribe but I'm trying my best.

Our culture are beginning to move away from the hearts of youths in this era because allot of things are becoming modernize in this computer age. On my own view about this, it isn't bad that we neglect the ugly part of our cultures and embrace the good part of it, what I mean by the ugly parts of our cultures is explainable, we have some cultures that prohibits the girl child to work because they think if she works and earns allot of money she will disrespect her husband, we also have some cultures that wouldn't allow their daughters or sons to marry from another tribe but only from their own tribes, we have cultures that kill people to perform rituals for some certain gods they inherited from long ago.
We actually have many of them but we still have some good aspects of those cultures example, You must not disobey those that are higher or above you, for no reason you should fight your brother but report him to the authority if he or she offends you. I think we have some good aspects of our cultures we shouldn't neglect and some bad ones we should keep aside, I have learnt to deviate from whatever that involves wickedness and inequity regardless of what that means to either me or anyone around me because I have found true peace and true peace is obedience to God's words and not hurting my neighbor but loving them as my self. There's actually allot to talk about our cultures in africa but I will love to talk about my entry now😊😊

What you saw me wearing over my head is call the Isiyako in Eggon native language and that simply means the head of an ape. This signifies an inheritance from our forefathers and we show our love and proudness for the Isiyako by dancing and shaking our head to and fro while singing. This is an act of showing the whole people we have something very important from our parents and we are proud of it.

This is called the Ozo Eggon and it simply means the attire for decoration meant for the Eggon people. This specific wear is used by other tribes too that I know. We cross our own over our chest like seen in the video above..
Below is a full Picture if Eggon traditional attire

The song I presented "Mongbo Yesu Angna" is an Eggon Christmas song which simply means "where was Jesus given birth to" I so much love the song and I wish I got a better instrumentation for the song but I couldn't get the native drum. I don't want to use a guitar or my trumpet because when we are talking about my culture they don't know about the trumpet and guitar because they are just the new era of evolution. I wanted my video to be strictly culture and that is why I had to look for those attires so we can bring africa to Hive.

Being an african doesn't stop us from Making friends outside africa, I have allot of friends from other part of the world that I love, most of them I meet through this platform and I'm proud to have them around. I understand that most of them have only a singular language unlike only Nigeria in Africa that speaks about 250 different languages and plus.
I will love to invite my friends so they can have a taste of our african culture and to hear there feed back. @jesuslnrs @ksam @fernanblog @obaro @musicandreview @hopestylist and @nazatpt @yisusth @merit.ahama @jorge243nv and lots more I can't mention but I hope this vibes gets to you all❤️💙

Culture is actually a beautiful thing and it's sad to see that many people (Africans and others) are losing touch with their true culture and identity. Its a really good thing to learn positive values, language and identity from our culture.
