There is a unique mystery about the word NAME.
A name is something that defines or speaks about a person or a thing even in their absence.
For instance, if someone asks, “Who is the president of America?” immediately the name Donald J. Trump comes to mind. And even before you begin to think deeply, certain attributes already follow that name—fearlessness, confidence, success, and a winning mindset. His name alone carries a strong perception.
Now think about the lion. If you’re calmly sitting somewhere and someone suddenly shouts, “Lion!” you already know what happens next. Fear sets in, and people run for their lives. Why? Because the name itself carries power, meaning, and expectation.
This shows us that every name has something attributed to it.
For this week’s entry, I did a cover of a song in Hausa and English titled
“Suna Yesu Gado Na Ne / The Name of the Lord Is My Inheritance.”
The songwriter made something very clear: the name does not require the physical presence of the person to work. The name answers challenges. The name heals. The name fights. The name destroys the works of evil. The name redeems.
I sang this song because there is power in the name of Jesus, and He has given us access to that same name. The more time we spend with Him, the more that name becomes a reality within us. And when that happens, we begin to manifest the dimensions and authority that are contained in that name.
Jesus said, “I and my Father are one.” While He was on earth, He was constantly doing the works of His Father, and we witnessed amazing things through Him. That was the result of a deep connection.
So let me ask us this:
What does our name represent?
When your name is mentioned, does it bring peace or chaos?
Does it lift people’s spirits or pull them down?
Think about it. Work on your name.
It truly matters.
