Hello Music lovers, I Welcome you all to Vibes Web3 Music Competition week 37🌹🌟❤️
Our theme for this week is songs of the "40s and 30s"
This is a very special week that brings us back to the Golden music age, the classic age where we see emergence of pure soul, Jazz and rock, majorly Christian Music is on the rise.
Today I present a song Titled: Every time I feel the spirit covered by Nat king Cole
"Every Time I Feel the Spirit" is a traditional African-American spiritual song, and its authorship is unknown.
I searched the whole internet hoping to find who wrote the song and I can't find lol,
But the song's origins date back to before 1861, making it a piece of American musical history that predates the Civil War.
When I was trying to select songs for the week I stumbled upon this song, the song's significance extends beyond its melody, as it represents the deep spiritual connection and resilience of African Americans during the period of slavery and beyond. Its lyrics reflect a longing for spiritual freedom and connection with God, themes that resonated deeply with the community.
Here is the songs lyrics:
O ev’ry time I feel the Spirit
moving in my heart, I will pray.
Yes, ev’ry time I feel the Spirit
moving in my heart, I will pray.
1 Upon the mountain when my God spoke,
out of His mouth came fire and smoke.
All around me looks so fine,
asked my Lord if all was mine. [Refrain]
2 The Jordan river runs right cold,
it chills the body, not the soul.
Ain’t but one train on this track,
runs to heaven and right back. [Refrain]
My Sincere appreciation goes to @Lordbutterfly, and all of our Judges @verbal-d
Much love to everyone in the community for their support so far on the Blockchain, thanks you all❤️.
Thanks you for coming around, Stay Blessed 🙏
